Lori Morgan: Owner, Designer
fonts, tea and 3-legged cats...
these are a few of her favorite things. As the founder and key designer for The Stationery Position, Lori can often be found in front of her iMac in her Montreal studio headquarters, her two rescued 3-legged cats by her side. A design innovator, she lives and breathes great design. A graduate of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, Lori has worked for the past seven years in the fields of graphic design, marketing and public relations in Nova Scotia, British Columbia and Montreal. 2008 ended with a bang for Lori... she married her true love, quit her job and set out to revamp the stationery industry. With a strong leap of faith and with a wealth of creative aspirations.... The Stationery Position idea was born! Lori is constantly searching for unique and curious ways to bring great design into the world of modern communique. She is happiest when conceptualizing ideas, expanding possibilities and bringing innovative and surprising details to your stationery. Lori’s family is widely responsible for her creative nature, her Mum being an esteemed entrepreneurial dressmaker and her sister -a successful Interior Designer (and business owner)... it was inevitable that Lori would also pursue her innate creative and independent sides. Lori gets inspired by... vintage wallpaper, Woody Allen movies, Denmark, retro tile patterns, mid-century interiors, album covers, music of all kinds, TEA, 3-legged cats, magazines, nature, fonts, t-shirts, fabric patterns, bicycling, modern architecture, ... and anything that has usability, simplicity and emotion.we believe in uniting + supporting the creative community...
that’s why we work selectively with the most talented independent artists and illustrators out there:
Bodhi Hill: Illustrator
mythic illustrator (and warrior)...
One of our most unique collaborators, Bodhi (boh·dee) Hill has spent his entire life creating in every form and medium possible. He attended the Rhode Island College Summer Art Program at age 14, and went on to graduate from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, with a degree in Graphic Design. He spent the next 15 years wearing the hats of pre-press operator, designer, animator, product designer and illustrator for companies like Hasbro, Spencer's Gifts, and Bed Bath & Beyond. In 2002 Bodhi started his own freelance studio, which slowly grew with exceptional clients and supported his interests in illustration and other forms of art. When not pouring creativity into these forms, Bodhi dove completely into the Martial Arts, studying everything that he could read, see and experience. He achieved advanced rank in Aikido, Aiki Ju Jitsu, Tomiki Aikido and Karate. Combined with his own spiritual searching and personal growth, he became involved with the Mythic Warrior group. On the side, Bodhi has written and illustrated two childrens books and has been working on a graphic novel based on his experiences on a spiritual, artistic path. Currently residing in Northampton, MA, Bodhi spends as much time as possible in the outdoors, camping, swimming, hiking, and soaking in inspiration from the natural world around him.Tania McCormack: Artist + Illustrator
fine art and whimsical paths...
Tania McCormack's first artistic experience came early, hanging around her Dad's classroom during summer holidays (he was an art teacher), drawing, painting and sculpting. Her interest in art led her to study at The Kent Institute of Art & Design in England where she completed a BA degree in Fine Art (painting). Despite a painting background, Tania's passion lies in work on paper and in particular, through drawing. After her degree, an opportunity arose to take a year-long residency at The Florence Trust (an art organization in North London). Since then, Tania has exhibited work through Transition Gallery in London as well as various studio shows; some of her work around the subject of journeys on London's public transport was purchased by The Arts Council of England for their permanent collection. A move to Vancouver, BC in 2005 changed the course of things once again for Tania and her work developed further along the whimsical, illustrative path. Whilst in Vancouver, Tania has contributed illustrations for the rebranding of the Canadian Tourism Commission. When not drawing, she can be found spending time in the beautiful BC outdoors. Swimming has become a favoured activity, and a new found love for skiing has inevitably arose. Her surroundings -both natural and urban- provide rich inspiration, with much to be found in the mundane and overlooked.Jennifer Pratt: Designer / Illustrator
